Hey there, I’m Kim.
I’m the founder of Backroadpicking & EcommConnected — which is really just a fancy way of saying I spend my days finding things, saving things, and selling things you probably don’t need… but really, really want.
Since the late 1900s (isn’t that a funny way to say 1998?), I’ve been hunting down vintage treasures, antiques, and random finds that make me smile. I started on eBay, added my own website, hopped on Etsy, and now even do live selling — because apparently I like to juggle a million things.
After nearly 30 years of buying, selling, and running businesses, I’ve learned a few things — some the hard way, some the fun way, and some in the “What on earth was I thinking?” way.
My Corporate Detour (a.k.a. The Decade of Controlled Chaos)
Before going all-in on my own businesses, I spent almost ten years in the wild world of SaaS — from scrappy start-up to acquisition. As part of the senior leadership team, I:
- Built a team of 30+ without HR, without a budget, and without losing my mind (most days).
- Created processes before anyone knew these processes were a thing we needed.
- Worked with teams that were amazing, and others… well… let’s just say “character building.”
- Got great advice, bad advice, and no advice at all — sometimes in the same week, or day.
- Was told I was a delight, and told I was a pain — occasionally in the same sentence.
Basically, it was like any good job: some days were a roller coaster, others were a walk in the park… and sometimes the roller coaster was in the park.
Why I’m Here
I’m a small business advocate with a serious love for organization, customer service, and software that actually makes life easier. My mission?
Help you do what you do — only better, faster, and with fewer headaches.
I’ll be honest — this page is part business, part therapy, and part me rambling about whatever’s in my head. You’ll get a mix of real talk, tips, mild complaining, occasional cheering, and plenty of weird-but-true thoughts.
